Bill and Kerry Brett's 'Inspirational Women'

Monica Jorge is an inspiration for all. An Ayer resident, Monica was pregnant with her second child in August 2007 when a seemingly routine C-section would forever change her life. She contracted necrotizing fasciitis, a flesh-eating bacteria, and was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital to undergo surgery to stabilize the infection, which included the removal of several organs and affected flesh.
