As part of a Sunday morning musical event, people dressed as Santa Claus rappel down the facade of the Julio Prestes train station building in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a former Portuguese colony, Brazil has a mix of Christmas celebrations that are widely celebrated throughout its enormous population. Santa goes by another name here: Papai Noel, or Father Noel. Children are told that he lives in Greenland and wears silk when he arrives in Brazil to cope with the heat.
