Christian pilgrims ducked to enter the grotto where Jesus was born at the Church of the Nativity in the West Bank town of Bethlehem.
Many more pilgrims visited the site today than in years past, as the atmosphere was made markedly cheerier by the recent renewal of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks after years of bloody conflict.
