Before taking a leisurely stroll down the aisle, brides-to-be will be making a mad dash through the the Hynes Convention Center today at Filene's Basement's "Running of the Brides" (the Basement at Downtown Crossing is getting a makeover). More than 3,000 name-brand gowns await the stampede, as do high-end mother-of-the-bride and bridesmaid dresses and bridal veils. Wouldn't it be great if they provided a selection of grooms? Wear a sports bra and shorts, or bathing suit, but no flip-flops (to avoid a fall) or makeup (to prevent dress stains). 8 a.m.-8 p.m. $249-$699 (final sale).
