
"Wedded Bliss: The Marriage of Art and Ceremony" can currently be seen at Salem's Peabody Essex Museum. The exhibit, on display until September 18, examines the matrimonial experience through a historical lens. See a sampling of some of the exhibit's 130 works of art:
The wedding dress of Sarah Peirce (left) dates back to 1801. The dress, which can be found in the east parlor of the Peirce-Nichols house, is made from a sheer cotton mull.
