The Georgetown Fire Department is asking residents to volunteer for its Adopt a Hydrant Program by keeping fire hydrants closest to their homes or businesses clear of snow. The Fire Department requires a 3-foot clearance on all sides of all hydrants throughout the winter. Volunteers will receive a hydrant adoption certificate. If interested, contact Fire Chief Albert Beardsley at 978-352-5757 or by e-mail at abeardsley@georgetownma.gov , or e-mail Lieutenant Matt McKay at mmckay@georgetownma.gov. end of story marker
