Following the departure of Karen Rassias, the town is now seeking a new chief assessor. Rassias resigned her position in a letter to finance director Warren Sproul, and her tenure ended on the last day of November. According to officials, she cited the town’s political climate for her decision. According to the job description posted by the town, the chief assessor is under the direction of the finance director and the three-member elected Board of Assessors, and duties include administrative, technical, and supervisory work related to the valuation of all property in town. Officials are seeking candidates with five to seven years of experience (several of those in a supervisory role). Salary range is between $75,000 and $86,681 and may include a car allowance.end of story marker
