Addison Gilbert Hospital was recently awarded a $168,000 grant from the Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation to expand its Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment program. The program aims to provide early intervention and treatment to those with alcohol and drug addiction issues. With the three-year grant and in collaboration with the Health Gloucester Collaborative, the hospital will expand its program and add additional screening and support for adolescent patients. According to a prepared statement, Addison Gilbert will be the first community hospital in the state to expand the program to address youth and adolescent needs.end of story marker
