The boy hit by a flying bat at Saturday’s Red Sox game was released from the hospital, according to the team.
“The Red Sox organization talked to the boy’s father,” said Director of Media Relations, Pam Ganley. “He was treated and released from Children’s Hospital last night. He’s behaving normally and doctors said he’ll be fine.”
The boy was carried from the stands Saturday night during the sixth inning of a game between Boston and the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park.
The bat slipped out of Red Sox’ Nick Punto’s hands, flying about two rows behind the dugout, striking the child.
