The playgrounds of Massachusetts a few years from now will be teeming with Billys and Bens, Sophias and Olivias.
That’s according to the US Social Security Administration, which has announced the most popular newborn baby names in Massachusetts for 2011.
William, Benjamin, Jacob, Michael and Ryan led among the boys, in that order, while Sophia Olivia, Isabella, Emma, and Ava led among the girls.
The list of the top 5 most popular boy names was slightly different from the national list. Benjamin and Ryan are apparently local favorites—they’re not even in the national top 10.
The girls’ top 5 list in the state was the same as nationally, though in a slightly different order.
