Two Bridgewater brothers found stabbed on dirt road in Wareham

Two brothers from Bridgewater are in critical condition at a Rhode Island hospital after being found early Sunday morning on a dirt road suffering from stab wounds, Wareham police said this afternoon.

Brendon J. Mahoney, 18, and Brian P. Mahoney, 19, were found lying in the roadway at the intersection of Hardy Street and Priscilla Avenue around 3:30 a.m., police said in a statement. Both men were taken to a local hospital and then transferred to Rhode Island.

Wareham police, along with State Police assigned to the Plymouth district attorney’s office, arrested Bryan Grassie, 18, of East Wareham, at a relative’s home in Plymouth a few hours later. Grassie is being charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police said.
