A Westwood man allegedly stole a vehicle and led police on a roughly 20-mile chase from South Boston to Burlington before he was stopped and arrested Sunday night, according to State Police.
Authorities said David C. Pare, 19, was driving a stolen vehicle when he was pulled over on L Street in South Boston by Boston Police.
Pare drove off during the stop, State Police said in a statement. State Police troopers spotted the vehicle on William J. Day Boulevard, officials said.
The driver refused to pull over and troopers chased the vehicle onto Interstate 93 northbound and then onto Route 128 southbound before using a device to deflate the tires to stop the vehicle, according to the statement.
At least one State Police cruiser was damaged during the pursuit.
