Person is struck and killed on Franklin commuter rail line
Service on the Franklin commuter rail line has been disrupted due to a person being struck by a train, MBTA officials said this morning.
A trespasser on the railroad was hit and killed by an outbound train between the Islington and Norwood Stations at about 9:50 a.m., said MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo.
Outbound commuters will be bused from Readville station to Forge Park station. All local stops will be made.
Rail passengers should expect over 60-minute delays in their commute. Travelers should seek alternate transportation, officials said.Sarah N. Mattero can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
