Shirtless man walking Red Line tracks in South Boston delays morning commute

A shirtless man walking on the inbound tracks between the Red Line’s Andrew and Broadway stations disrupted the morning commute, said MBTA spokesman Joseph Pesaturo.

The suspect was seen on the tracks just before 7 a.m., and trains were delayed more than 20 minutes while police investigated the incident, he said in an e-mail.

“He left before he could be detained,” Pesaturo said.

MBTA surveillance video showed the man walking along the platform, then letting himself into the train pit and determinedly striding along the railroad ties.
