Funeral set for Winchester native, former Navy SEAL killed in attack on US consulate in Libya
Memorial services will be held this week for a Winchester native and former Navy SEAL who was one of four Americans killed in last week’s attack on a US consulate in Libya. Family and friends of Glen A. Doherty, 42, are invited to gather at St. Eulalia Parish at 50 Ridge St. in Winchester on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m., according to a press release from Costello Funeral Home.
A funeral Mass will be said at the church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Doherty was working as a security contractor when he was killed in the American consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11 during what officials believe may have been a coordinated terrorist attack.
