Police investigating robbery of Braintree bank
Police are investigating the robbery of a Braintree bank this morning.
Police responded around 9:10 a.m. to the Eastern Bank branch located at 51 Commercial St. in the Weymouth Landing neighborhood.
The bank teller told officers that a tall white male wearing dark clothing entered the building and demanded money. The man did not display a weapon. The man’s face was concealed by the brim of his baseball cap in surveillance photographs.
No one was injured during the incident, Braintree police said in a statement.
The robber fled the bank towards the direction of the adjacent 7-Eleven convenience store, authorities said.Sarah N. Mattero can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
