Police allege drunken driving in fatal crash
A 24-year-old North Attleborough woman was killed by an alleged drunk driver during a head-on crash in Attleboro Thursday night, Attleboro police said. The Attleboro police and fire departments responded to the scene of the collision on North Main Street, which is also Route 152, near Wamsutta Road at 10:27 p.m., police said. The drivers were the sole occupants of the vehicles and both had to be pulled from their cars by firefighters, police said. The woman was driving a 2002 Saturn north on North Main Street when she was hit head-on. Her name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin, police said. Jason Kwolek, 32, of Pawtucket, R.I., was driving a 2006 Jeep south when he crossed over the center lines of the road and smashed into the other car, police said. Kwolek was taken to Sturdy Hospital in Attleboro and then to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of his injuries, police said.
