Woman aiming at raccoon shoots herself in chest with pellet gun
A woman was seriously injured when she accidentally shot herself in the chest with a pellet gun while aiming for a raccoon, Wellfleet police said.
Police responded to Parkington Hill Road just after 11 p.m., police said.
Kerrilee Zimmerman, 31, from East Bridgewater, was about to shoot the animal when she tripped and shot herself in the chest, police said.
She was taken to Cape Cod Hospital, police said.
Police are investigating.
