Rain expected Friday and Saturday; skies to clear Sunday
Rain will return Friday after a streak of dry and mild temperatures throughout the state, but don’t expect the weather to turn frigid just yet.
The sun will stay out throughout the day today with temperatures pushing towards 70 degrees. Temperatures will drop as rain and fog move in just after midnight, said the National Weather Service.
About one to two inches of rain is expected to fall throughout the state, on and off throughout the day Friday and into Saturday, with the bulk of the storms occurring Saturday morning, said Charlie Foley, a meteorologist for the weather service.
“We began a slight warming trend,” said Foley, noting that temperatures in the upper 60s are expected during the day Friday. Temperatures are expected to rise into the lower 70s on Saturday. “Normally, the high temperature for where we are now is around 60 degrees. We’ve been climbing slightly above that,” he said.
If you have tickets to the New England Patriots’ home game on Sunday, you’re in luck, as temperatures will hover in the lower 60s, making it crisp and comfortable for fans in the stadium.
