Beacon Hill sex assault suspect is arrested
A man wanted for a sexual assault in Beacon Hill earlier this month has been arrested, authorities said.
Anthony Williams, 45, of Boston, was charged with aggravated rape, kidnapping, and related charges, Suffolk District Daniel F. Conley’s office said.
On Nov. 10, a female victim told police that an unknown man had forced his way into her apartment near Joy and Myrtle streets around 3:15 a.m. The victim said that the man brandished a weapon, likely a knife, then robbed and sexually assaulted her, Boston police said.
Williams will be arraigned Wednesday in Boston Municipal Court.
Williams already had open cases in the BMC charging him with assault and battery and failure to register as a sex offender, Conley’s office said. The latter charge related to a 1998 Essex County conviction for rape.
