MIT student injured in Wellesley College campus center fall
A Massachusetts Institute of Technology student visiting Wellesley College was hospitalized after he fell about 12 feet inside the Lulu Chow Wang Campus Center around midnight Saturday, police said.
The student fell inside the building’s atrium, from the third floor to the second floor, Wellesley College police Sergeant William Bowman said.
He was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston , Bowman said.
“He was conscious and was able to speak to the officer,” Bowman said. “But the fact that he was taken to Boston was, I guess, concerning.”
A Wellesley College police officer is investigating, Bowman said. He did not know whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
The center is open to students 24 hours a day, Bowman said. There was a concert on a lower floor earlier in the evening Saturday.
