Callahan Tunnel closing overnight
The Callahan Tunnel will be closed tonight at 11 p.m. and will reopen Sunday at 7 a.m. for paving and construction work, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
The closure had been scheduled between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Sunday, Dec. 9, through Dec. 15, depending on the weather. Traffic is being detoured through the Ted Williams Tunnel, the Massachusetts Port Authority wrote on its website.
The authority advised travelers to allow extra travel time if planning to use the tunnel.Alli Knothe can be reached at email@example.com.
