The extreme temperatures of the past two weeks are expected to level out to seasonal averages this weekend, but football fans along the southeastern coast of the state may be in for a snowy Super Bowl Sunday.
Daytime temperatures Saturday are expected to hover at a steady high of 32 degrees Fahrenheit, National Weather Service meteorologist Benjamin Sipprell said.
It will get cloudier throughout the day, with nighttime lows dropping to 20 degrees Fahrenheit, he said.
Another fast-moving low pressure system may bring light snow Tuesday into Wednesday. But high pressure will bring dry, cool weather later in the week, forecasters said in a Web posting.
