Son allegedly murders father in Weymouth domestic dispute
A 20-year-old man murdered his 58-year-old father in a domestic dispute this afternoon in Weymouth, authorities say.
Michael Beaudry is to be arraigned Tuesday in Quincy District Court on a murder charge in the slaying of Ronald Beaudry, Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said this evening at a news conference.
Police and emergency medical workers were summoned to the area of Cross Street and Westminster Road at 2:14 p.m. today, where they found Ronald Beaudry in the street, suffering from blunt force trauma, Morrissey said.
Beaudry was transported to South Shore Hospital, where he was declared dead. State Police and Weymouth detectives are investigating, Morrissey said.
Morrissey said emergency responders found family members, including Beaudry’s wife, tending to Beaudry when they arrived. It wasn’t clear if the son was at the scene.
A piece of PVC pipe and a propane cylinder were found nearby, but investigators haven’t determined yet whether they were used in the attack, Morrissey said.
Morrissey said investigators believe the dispute began inside Ronald Beaudry’s home nearby and then moved outside.
Michael Beaudry was being held overnight at the Weymouth police lockup.
