Three-alarm fire damages Newton home
Newton firefighters have extinguished a three-alarm fire that heavily damaged a home on Charlesbank Road, officials said.
The blaze broke out at 25 Charlesbank Road about 2 p.m. and quickly went to three alarms in a four-unit dwelling.
Newton police said four families were left homeless by the blaze. A worker inside the building was treated for minor injuries sustained during the fire.
Newton police spokesman Bruce Apotheker said the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
