An Amesbury auction house grossed nearly $2 million for thousands of original, personal, pieces of John F. Kennedy memorabilia on Sunday. The collection, from the estate of David F. Powers, one of the former presidents’ closest friends and advisers, included personal notes, annotated speeches, and photographs. Dan Meader of McInnis Auctioneers said the auction was the most popular he has ever overseen, garnering live coverage from the national media and even Russian television stations.
