Durham, NH car crash leaves 74-year-old man dead, injures two 22-year-old men
Police are investigating a two-car crash on Route 4 in Durham, NH that left a 74-year-old man dead and two 22-year-old men seriously injured.
According to Durham authorities, a 22-year-old man driving a 2004 Chrysler was passing the car in front of him when he collided head-on with the 2000 Buick being driven by the 74-year-old man, whose identity and residence is being held pending family notification.
Durham Deputy Police Chief Rene Kelley said the 74-year-old man was dead when officers arrived on scene.
The 22-year-old driver was airlifted to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, while his passenger, another 22-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire. Kelley said there were no further details on their injuries.
Authorities are investigating whether the 22-year-old was passing legally before he struck the elderly man.
