Police raise concerns about care of 9-year-old Brockton rapper ‘Lil Poopy’

Brockton police have filed a child abuse and neglect complaint against the father of Luie Rivera Jr., a 9-year-old Brockton boy who raps under the name “Lil Poopy,” an officer said today.

Rivera, a member of the rap group Coke Boys, stars in several online rap videos, such as “Coke Ain’t a Bad Word,” in which he is shown gambling and engaging in sexually suggestive activity with adult women.

Brockton Police Lieutenant William Hallisey said his department filed a 51A report petitioning the Department of Children and Families to investigate Luis Rivera, the boy’s father, for child abuse or neglect in relation to the videos.

“He’s not doing anything wrong. He’s acting,” Rivera told the Brockton Enterprise.

Nobody from the Rivera family or Coke Boys rap group could be immediately contacted.

There are no criminal charges against Rivera, Hallisey said.

Cayenne Isaksen, a spokeswoman for the Department of Children and Families, said the department had received a 51A report regarding Rivera and is pursuing an investigation.
