Men arrested at Logan in connection with drug smuggling network, State Police say
Two passengers were arrested at Logan International Airport Wednesday in connection with a narcotics smuggling pipeline from Puerto Rico to New England, according to David Procopio, a State Police spokesman.
Nazel O. Miranda-Diaz, 20, and Edwin Rosario, 28, both of Puerto Rico, were arrested at Logan after they arrived on a JetBlue flight from San Juan, according to Procopio.
Authorities seized 12 kilograms of cocaine in Puerto Rico and another 10 kilograms in a suitcase at Logan, with an estimated street value of more than $1 million, Procopio said.
Maranda-Diaz and Rosario were charged with trafficking in over 200 grams of a Class B substance.Haven Orecchio-Egresitz can be reached at Haven.email@example.com.
