Person extricated from underneath Orange Line train at State Street Station
A person has been extricated from under an Orange Line train on the northbound tracks at State Street Station, authorities said.
The incident happened at 2 p.m., the Boston Fire Department said in an official tweet. The person was rescued and handed over to Boston Emergency Medical Services for treatment and transport.
The patient, who was conscious, was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, said Jennifer Mehigan, a spokeswoman for Boston EMS.
The T announced that it was shutting down Orange Line service between Back Bay and North Station.
T spokesman said the victim was a “trespasser.”
No further information was immediately available.
