Newton man loses finger in snowblower accident
A Newton man is in stable condition after losing a finger in a snowblower accident this morning, local fire officials said.
A 911 caller told dispatchers the man’s finger had been amputated in a snowblower at an address on Commonwealth Avenue at 10:23 a.m, a Newton Fire Department dispatcher said.
He has been transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
Newton had received 6 inches of snow as of 5:43 this morning, according to National Weather Service spotter reports.Lauren Dezenski can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
