Police are conducting a murder investigation into the death of a man in his 20s whose body was found burning in a Cranston, R.I., cemetery, police said today.

Firefighters discovered the body around 11 p.m. Wednesday while responding to a report of a brush fire near the cemetery. When the firefighters realized a body was involved in the blaze, they called in police, Cranston Deputy Fire Chief Stephen Joyce said.

The body was identified by its fingerprints, but authorities are waiting to release the name of the victim until the family has been notified, police said
