A man was struck and killed by a commuter rail train in Acton this afternoon, according to the MBTA Transit Police.
The man in his 20s was hit around 3:55 p.m. by an inbound Fitchburg line train, Transit Police said. He was struck about 200 yards east of South Acton Station, said Joe Pesaturo, a spokesman for the MBTA.
The incident remains under investigation and no further information was available.
The Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Co. tweeted out that passengers who use the Fitchburg line should expect delays from 45 to 60 minutes due to the investigation.
