Boston police have arrested 19-year-old Daquan Sparks, who allegedly lured the mother of one of his children to Savin Hill Monday and held her while his current girlfriend stabbed her multiple times in a brazen daytime attack, police said.
Police arrested Sparks in Quincy today, a police statement said. He is to be arraigned Friday in Dorchester District Court on one count of assault with intent to murder.
Samia Jones, 17, Sparks’ current girlfriend, was arrested shortly after the attack on Monday and a not-guilty plea was entered on her behalf at her arraignment Tuesday in Dorchester District Court on one count of assault with intent to murder. She is being held on $50,000 cash bail.
Sparks allegedly had young children with both the 21-year-old victim of the attack and with Jones. Police said Sparks called the victim and asked her to meet him in Savin Hill so he could give her shoes for their baby.
While the victim pushed her baby in a stroller down a street, Sparks allegedly grabbed and restrained her, while Jones stabbed her, police said. Police have not said what the alleged motive was for the attack.
Police said earlier this week that Sparks was 17. Today they said his age was actually 19.Todd Feathers can be reached at email@example.com. Follow him on Twitter at @ToddFeathers.
