Estranged husband of Norton town clerk charged with attempted murder in attack on wife
A Norton man is being held without bail after allegedly attempting to kill his estranged wife, the town clerk, a spokesman for the Bristol district attorney said.
As the Sun Chronicle of Attleboro first reported, James T. Sicard, 44, pleaded innocent Friday to charges of attempted murder, domestic abuse, and witness intimidation, Gregg Miliote, spokesman for District Attorney Samuel Sutter, confirmed by e-mail.
Sicard allegedly twisted the neck of Town Clerk Danielle Sicard, 43, Thursday morning after offering to demonstrate a relaxation technique, Miliote confirmed.
Sicard’s lawyer said in court Friday that Danielle Sicard attacked her estranged husband after luring him into the home they once shared with a promise of sex, Miliote confirmed.
James Sicard is due back in court April 18 for a pretrial hearing, Miliote said.Jeremy C. Fox can be reached at email@example.com. Follow him on Twitter @jeremycfox.
