Dedham man charged in Jaffrey, NH crash that killed one, injured two others

A Dedham man is facing charges after an early morning car crash on Route 202 in Jaffrey, NH that killed one man and sent two others to the hospital, according to a statement from the Jaffrey Police Department.

Officers responded to the crash after two passersby, who helped pull one of the victims from the wreckage, alerted them at 4:41 a.m., police said.

When they arrived, a 2006 Honda Accord was resting upside down in the woods and was engulfed in flames, said the statement.

The driver of the Accord, Edgard Henriquez, 19, of Dedham, was traveling north on River Street, when he lost control of the car, crossed the center line, and crashed into the woods on the westbound side of the road, according to the statement.

Henriquez was charged with aggravated DWI and negligent homicide. He and one of his passengers, 18-year-old Tyler Tobin of Dedham, were taken to Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH, said the statement.

An autopsy is scheduled tomorrow for another passenger in the car who was killed in the crash said police. He has not been identified.

River Street was shut down from about 5 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., according to the statement.

Henriquez, who was still in the hospital Sunday evening, was released on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on June 6.
