Motorists leaving the city or heading to the airport today should expect delays because a broken manhole cover is restricting travel in the right lane of the Callahan Tunnel, State Police said.
“Traffic will be slow,” said Lieutenant Daniel Richard. He did not have additional information on the extent of the damage, but said the “safety of the road is compromised.”
Authorities expect the lane to be closed for duration of the day, according to Richard. He added that that repairs will start sometime this afternoon and hope to be completed by Monday morning’s commute.
