Body pulled from Charles River near the Esplanade

State Police removed the remains of a man from the Charles River this morning, after a passerby spotted the body around 9:30 a.m. today near Teddy Ebersol’s Red Sox Fields on the Esplanade.

Troopers from the State Police marine unit found a wallet on the man, but authorities are waiting to release his identity until they can confirm it with his family, said Jake Wark, a spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley. He is from the Greater Boston area, Wark said.

There are no signs of foul play thus far; State Police are continuing the investigation, he said.
