Pedestrian struck and killed on Cranberry Highway

A pedestrian was killed Friday near 2816 Cranberry Highway after being struck by a car heading north around 8:10 p.m., according to Wareham police.

Police and EMTs who responded to the call found that the victim, an adult man, had died at the scene.

Authorities have not released his identity, pending notification of his family.

A 19-year-old Wareham man who was driving a 1994 Acura involved in the accident was not injured, and he remained at the scene, police said.

No criminal charges have been filed. State Police and the Wareham police are investigating the accident.
