FBI continues investigations on Norfolk St. in Cambridge, where Marathon bombing suspects lived

The FBI will be continuing investigations in Cambridge today on Norfolk Street, where the Boston Marathon bombing suspects resided, officials said.

“[Residents are] going to see us in some areas as part of the ongoing investigation,” said FBI spokeswoman Amanda Cox. Cox could not comment on any specifics of the case.

The search is court-authorized and related to the Marathon bombings, said Christina DiIorio-Sterling, a spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz.

Cox and DiIorio-Sterling could not state if FBI officials were searching the home of bombing suspects Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on that street.

Norfolk Street may close for periods of time, but no other roads have been closed today due to the investigations, according to Cambridge Police Deputy Superintendent Joseph L. Wilson.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed in a shootout on April 19, while his younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was captured in Watertown. Dzhokhar is currently being held in a federal detention center in Fort Devens.

The brothers are suspected of placing bombs near the finish line of the marathon on April 15. The explosions left three dead and more than 260 injured.
