Authorities capture inmate who walked away from Concord state prison
Police have captured a state prison inmate who allegedly walked away from his work release job this morning, the Department of Correction said.
Freddie Deya, 25, who was a prisoner at the medium-security Northeast Correction Facility, was declared missing at 11:10 a.m., Department of Correction spokeswoman Cara Savelli said in an e-mail. He was serving 5 to 6 years at the prison following his 2009 conviction on assault and battery charges in Worcester Superior Court, she said.
Deya was captured around 12:45 p.m., Savelli said.
Daya was eligible for parole Aug. 25, Savelli said. If he is convicted of escaping, his sentence could be extended, she said.Todd Feathers can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Follow him on Twitter @ToddFeathers.
