State Police have opened one lane and are working to move a tractor-trailer that is blocking most of Interstate 95 near Exit 16A in Dedham after a five-car crash paralyzed the southbound highway.
The drivers of the tractor trailer, dump truck, and three cars involved in the crash were not injured, State Police said in a statement. Authorities warned drivers to expect a “extensive traffic delay” and seek alternate routes.
Around 3:20 p.m., the 50-foot long tractor trailor jackknifed, colliding with the dump truck, which was towing a trailer, and three cars, the statement said. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
State Police are estimating it will take another 30 minutes before they can remove the tactor-trailer and open the center lane, the official State Police Twitter feed said. Traffic is currently backed up to Lexington.
