A man was fatally struck by an empty commuter rail train in Brockton just after 2 p.m., MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said.
The victim, who was trespassing on the tracks, was hit by the outbound train at 2:15 p.m. near Montello Station on Spark Street, Pesaturo said. The commuter rail station serves the Kingston/Plymouth and Middleborough/Lakeville Lines.
Police activity interrupted service on the Middleborough/Lakeville Line just before 3:30 p.m. according to the MBTA website. Bus service will be provided between Randolph and Middleborough.
