Roslindale woman identified as victim in fatal three-car crash in Weston on Saturday
A woman who was killed in a three-car crash in Weston Saturday afternoon has been identified as a Roslindale resident, Massachusetts State Police said.
In the crash on the ramp connecting Interstate-90 east to Interstate-95 north, a vehicle driven by Ana M. Espinal, 43, was seriously damaged, trapping Espinal and her two children inside. Espinal was extricated from the vehicle by the Newton Fire Department but was declared dead at the scene, State Police said in a report.
Espinal’s two children, aged 15 and 17, were also trapped; they were rescued and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with minor injuries. Their names have been withheld due to their ages, State Police said.
The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured in the crash, which occurred around 12:35 p.m., according to State Police. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but authorities have ruled out alcohol as a factor.
