Three-alarm fire displaces 11 from Cape Cod hotel

A three-alarm hotel fire in Bourne displaced 11 people today, the Red Cross said.

Firefighters responded to the Eastern Inn at 6 Old Bourne Bridge Approach and observed heavy flames coming from the window of a basement laundry room, Bourne Deputy Fire Chief Joe Carrara said.

Investigators have not determined the cause of the blaze, which damaged all three floors of the building, Carrara said.

The hotel was not a total loss. Most of the damage was to the interior of the building rather than the structure itself, he added.
