Police search for suspected serial Dunkin’ Donuts thief who has robbed Canton store, among others
Authorities are searching for a man they suspect has robbed several Dunkin’ Donuts stores in Canton, Avon, and other surrounding communities.
Canton police said a man wearing dark clothes and a ski mask robbed the Dunkin’ Donuts at 600 Neponset St. last Wednesday night, allegedly brandishing a gun and going behind the counter to rob the cashiers. There were no customers in the coffee shop at the time.
Police said that same Dunkin’ Donuts was robbed in the same manner a few weeks ago.
Authorities also believe a man who seemed ready to rob an Dunkin’ Donuts last Wednesday night, but then changed his mind, is the same person who robbed the Canton store two hours later. The suspect seemed to back out of his stick-up plans when he saw there were patrons in the Avon store, police said.
Avon police “provided us with surveillance video of the attempted robbery and detectives determined that it is likely the same person that robbed the Dunkin Donuts located in Canton later that evening,” Canton police said on their official Facebook account.
Canton police have posted a surveillance video to their Facebook showing the suspect at the Avon coffee shop last week. He can be seen wearing dark pants and a black or blue jacket with a horizontal green stripe.
Police said the man is also the probable culprit of other recent Dunkin’ Donuts robberies in surrounding communities.
