The extended weather forecast is simple and satisfying: It’s warm, and it’s going to stay that way.
The period of dry weather Massachusetts has seen will continue into early next week, as temperatures gradually warm throughout the weekend. Cloud cover will remain minimal, with a high near 82 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
“For people on vacation, they picked the ideal period,” said Charlie Foley, weather service meteorologist. “This is probably some of the most comfortable weather we will see this summer.”
A light sea breeze should develop this afternoon along the coast. Temperatures will moderate into the 50s overnight.
The weekend will bring more enjoyable weather, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures around 80 degrees. Humidity levels will remain comfortable, and rain is not expected, according to the weather service.
Temperatures should remain comfortable through early next week, and southern New England could see light rain Monday night and perhaps Tuesday. Still, skies should remain mostly sunny until Thursday, with temperatures remaining in the low 80s.
Temperatures could climb to around 90 late in the week, according to the weather service.
“We could see temperatures around 90, but we won’t see the extended oppressive humidity we had about a month ago,” Foley said.
