Man shot near Copley Square has died; Boston police search for killer
A man has died today after being shot in Copley Square last night, and Boston police are continuing their search for the man’s killer, officials said.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was shot in the chest around 11:10 p.m. at 553 Boylston St., according to police. The victim was a male in his late 20s or 30s.
Boston police responded to the scene and found him lying in the middle of the street near Trinity Church. He was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
A man wearing a blue Hawaiian shirt was seen fleeing Boylston Street, heading toward Clarendon Street. Police have identified him as a possible suspect.
Police are planning to search for possible surveillance footage from businesses and apartment complexes in the area.
No further information was immediately available.
