CHELSEA—Two men were shot, one of them seriously injured, near Chestnut Street and Washington Avenue in Chelsea Saturday afternoon, police said.
A pair of men opened fire, then fled in an unknown direction, Chelsea Police Captain Keith Houghton said. One of the victims was struck twice and transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, while the other suffered a non-life-threatening injury and wasn’t hospitalized, according to police.
The shooting was not random, Houghton said, and one of the victims is known by officers for his police record. The investigation is active and no other details were immediately available.
