Carver woman killed in head-on collision on Main Street
A woman who was injured in a car accident in Carver Sunday afternoon died from her injuries, according to police.
Marjorie M. Carter, age 88 of Ward St. Extension in Carver, was driving a 1997 Ford Escort when she was involved in a head-on collision with a pickup truck on Main Street.
Carver Police and EMS responded just after 4 p.m. on Sunday. Both vehicles were badly damaged and at least two parties were injured. Because of the seriousness of the accident, everyone involved was taken to Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, according to a press release.
Carter was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police.
The pickup was driven by Carl Jewells, 46, of North Attleboro, who had a passenger. The extent of their injuries was not known.
